Fall at Fletcher Tavern - The season seems to commence on Labor Day. Suddenly there's a change - with Mother Nature using colour with superb artistry!
The North side of Fletcher Tavern in the Fall.
The Fletcher Tavern sign welcomes guests at the entrance to the Tavern driveway. Just to be confusing, the entrance is actually OFF BOSTON ROAD (around the corner from Hildreth Street). Be on the lookout as you approach Westford Centre (.9 of a mile from I495) on the left of Boston Road.
And Fall....it's just beautiful! This photo was taken from the Fletcher Tavern land, looking across Boston Road at the Town Common. Yes, this is very much of a 'typical' New England village!
An 'old' maple that has seen many shifts from Summer to Fall.
We're exchanging 'looks' with a tufted titmouse.....
Fletcher Tavern hydrangea bushes generously in flower.
'Spent' hydrangeas - useful pruning to ensure fuller, healthier shrubs next Spring.
Glorious Autumn (view from Fletcher Tavern B&B) !!
Autumnal scene through leaded glass windows in the kitchen....
At the top.....perhaps our visitor is a goldfinch in winter plumage.
Our more fully visible visitor is a chickadee.
I was quite surprised to see a RAINBOW on such a sunny day! What a delight - and what a gift!!
A brilliant Maple tree (at the corner of Hildreth Street and Boston Road).
The golden light of Fall, caught in a maple tree.
One of the very special settings at the Tavern - the patio. This is where guests enjoy the start of a day (weather permitting!) with coffee or tea, breakfast, plus interaction and conversation....
