'My husband and I stayed at the Fletcher Tavern B&B this weekend and we found the Inn to be charming and beautiful. Elizabeth was a gracious hostess, her breakfast was excellent. Our stay was relaxing and we loved our room with a "view". I highly recommend this Inn.'
'Elizabeth was an amazing host - we felt welcomed and comfortable as soon as we stepped foot into the Tavern, and were greeted with tea and cookies in a warm, cozy environment. She knew the area extremely well and was nice enough to recommend local attractions and places to eat, all information that also appeared on pamphlets that were conveniently located in our rooms. The Tavern was both clean and beautiful - a worthwhile destination in and of itself. The entire place was magical, and each room had its own charm. I mentioned to my friends how wonderful it would be for a family to spend Christmas at the Fletcher Tavern. One room has a beautiful view of the (Common), complete with a giant decorated tree. Elizabeth was also kind enough to let me take photos in the Tavern - it was so beauiful, how could one not? The entire place is a photographer's dream (or anyone who is interested in historical buildings, for that matter).
All of our needs were met above and beyond. Our breakfast in the morning was delicious, and once again we shared more great conversation with Elizabeth, who was gracious and thoughtful throughout our stay.
I can't say enough about how great our stay was - Thank you!'
'I stayed with Elizabeth while visiting local family this weekend. The Fletcher Tavern is a lovely place to stay, and I am sure I will return. I slept in the Tavern Room on the 3rd floor. The featherbed is exceptionally fluffy and very welcoming after a long day of travel. The ensuite bathroom features a lovely, large clawfoot tub. Elizabeth served up delicious breakfasts and good conversation each morning. I definitely recommend staying at Fletcher Tavern if you will be in the area.'
'I travel a lot in New England B&Bs and this is a five star experience!! Really the best one. I was traveling alone in the Boston area and I had reserved from Italy per mail with Elizabeth, the innkeeper. Due to snow my flight was cancelled and I had to change the reservation to the day after. Elizabeth was so kind with me and changed it with no problem!!!
At my arrival I was surprised at the beauty of this house: really, everything is gorgeous. Old New England style decorations mixed with perfect taste. It seems to live in another era!.
I was in a dreamy bedroom, the bed was so comfy, something to die for! And hot tub in the bathroom and hot toilet seat are absolutely a must!
The breakfast was great every morning with fresh fruit and hot plate...Really yummy and fresh cooked! Elizabeth and I usually had such interesting conversation during this delicious breakfast with our cup of coffee! Everything was so sweet and perfect that I decided to stay two days more!
If you are in the area don't search another place, this is the best!
p.s. I told Elizabeth never to change anything of the home - it is so rare to find a real New England Colonial home so perfectly maintained!!'
'My wife and I stayed here in the fall of 2014. We absolutely loved it. The setting is quite picturesque and the inn is filled with lovely old antiques, rugs and art. Elizabeth is a wonderfl hostess and makes a delicious breakfast. I'd recommend the 'Room with a View'.
Just a note, Google maps have the entrance wrong, the driveway is actually on Boston Rd, about 100 ft before the turn off to Hildreth St.
Go and enjoy!'
'It was lovely to meet you and stay at your special B&B. I loved the atmosphere and food!'
All the best,
Excellent location for me in a beautiful old tavern with wonderful rooms. The wedding suite with the four poster bed and champagne bubble bath was very cool. My son and I stayed in another Suite, wonderfully appointed, as is the whole house.
When we arrived on Valentines day Elizabeth had set out an afternoon tea set and chilled a bottle of Proseco. A great touch. This was also laid out each day we returned from skiing (minus the bubbly) and included teas, coffees, cheese and fruit.
The breakfast was a full English breakfast: bacon sausage, eggs, beans and all the trimmings including fried bread.
You need to know the entrance is on the Boston Road not the listed address as it is on a sharp corner. I missed the garage entrance more than once.
'We arrived on a Friday late afternoon and were greeted by Elizabeth with some hot cider and warm cookies. The hostess and house itself were so inviting. The breakfast was fabulous. The bed was comfy and warm. It was a perfect stay!'
'The Tavern is truly magical and is such a wonderful building. It's warm and welcoming, exceptionally comfortable and our Hostess was the most charming person we met whilst in the US. Breakfast was superb with a wonderful selection of different fresh fruit every day. The gardens attract some amazing birds and small animals and these can be observed whilst at breakfast. The location was perfect for Boston, Salem and a host of other attractions. We will certainly be revisiting the Fletcher Tavern and will be recommending it to all of our friends and family.'
'Elizabeth's house felt like a real piece of New England history. It is immaculately maintained with antiques throughout. We loved watching hummingbirds and butterflies flit through her gorgeous gardens....'
